Ally & James’s chic and modern museum-to-pub wedding

Over the Christmas break I’ll be sharing some favourite weddings over on our Instagram – so do, do catch me over there, as it’s going to be beautiful!! Here on the blog, this is our parting shot for 2020… and a stunning, gorgeous wedding to take us all the way through to 2021. I’VE NEVER LOOKED FORWARD TO A DATE MORE IN MY LIFE!

Ally and James are the loveliest couple. Their day (before covid, in carefree and happier times!) is blissfully beautiful, joyful and full of vibrant, modern style. They’ve given us a fabulous interview and a glowing review for their London wedding photographer Simon Biffen Photography – whose images of the day are just PERFECT!! And it’s all here – everything you could dream of for an epic, fun-filled, modern wedding. Ally’s dress is a beauty, James rocks his suit like a movie star, the pair of them just make me grin they’re so gorgeous and happy! The foliage is lush and romantic, the venue full of character and the party is totally EPIC!

How did you choose your photographer?

Recommendation from a couple of camera shy friends

Were you pleased with your wedding photographer? Do tell… we love a brilliant review!

SO thrilled! Simon was brilliant. In a couple where the bride is more keen on the camera than the groom, choosing a wedding photographer was always going to be hard! We wanted natural, candid snaps & nothing too posed and Simon delivered 120%. The party photos are without doubt the best I have ever seen too! Massively summing up the vibes on the dance floor!

Tell us about your venue – what made this place special for you?

The ceremony was in a museum – Ally wanted registry office for ease & no religion, James wanted the ceremony of a church setting… so we found somewhere with a bit of grandeur, in our home city a mere a cab ride from home that gave us it all! Can not recommend The Museum of The Order of St John enough! And the pub reception was always how we wanted to do a party – nothing formal about it – just everyone we love in a pub with good food! There are loads of great ones in the area but we chose The Blacksmith and the Toffeemaker for its party-friendly layout, the fact a colleague had had a similar vibe of wedding there previously, and the amazing food and hospitality!
